B. Kids need time for problem solving, critical thinking, applying knowledge through project-based instruction, working in teams, falling down and getting right back up to figure out what they didn't understand and why. Randi Weingarten 10/10
C. In this class we will probably experience many failures and roadblocks which we will in turn be able to sit down and attempt to figure out the solution by ourselves or ask for others opinions and ideas. Problem solving requires critical thinking.25/25
D. I took Web Design first semester, that class is not super hard when you get the hang of it but can be challenging since even the littlest things can throw off and break an entire website/code piece. You had to work together and figure out how to do certain things. With Web Design, you need to be imaginative in order to have ideas for websites and how they will look. Sometimes things just don’t work out at all so you need to go back through and change your idea, sometimes even scrap it completely. For my final project, I had to create my own two page website. I had an idea of what topic I wanted to base the website on, I got to work but I couldn’t quite get the template to work the way I wanted it to, so instead of basing my website on a template and coding it, I made my own WordPress based website. This was more the idea I had, and I knew how to do it. All it took was some re-arranging and letting Mrs. Buell I was changing my idea. (Problem solving) 20/20

B.) “A man who is morally clean, other things being equal, has in every instance, greater agility, greater capacity, and greater endurance by far than the man who is not. While the latter is wasting his creative energies in useless pleasures, as well as in disease producing habits, the former is turning all of his creative energy into ability and genius, and the result is evident.”

When pieces of the project didn’t end up how we wanted it to we didn’t get mad/angry, but we had to think and problem solve until we came up with another idea of what to do. (20/20)

D. In seventh grade science with Mr. Papagni, we were given an assignment to build a roller coaster. I was very apprehensive because I didn’t know how to build a rollercoaster. So, I got with my group to begin working on it. We went through many different designs before concluding. We argued and discussed. We finally concluded and used different parts of different ideas to build our final project. We used critical thinking to solve the problem of where the loop should go and how big the loop should be. Mr. Papagni didn’t just tell us the answer. We had to put our heads together to solve the problem. B. “You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” – Clay P. Bedford (10/10)
C. To promote the development of the skills curiosity and imagination, we may try unfamiliar things we have never done before. We may try new things that require me to use my skills and initial knowledge to try and figure it out, sparking my curiosity. By using something new, whether a new program or site, we use our curiosity to find how this new thing works and what it does. We may also use these skills when creating something of our own. When creating anything we need imagination, to be able to see in our heads what we want the final product to look like, and curiosity to drive us to figure out how to make that happen. (25/25)
D. In English class we had to take an excerpt from a passage we were reading and put in in another character`s perspective. To complete this assignment, we had to use both imagination and curiosity. The story was only written in the narrator`s perspective, meaning to understand what the other character was really feeling we needed to use imagination to try and get in their brain and understand them. We had to imagine what they were feeling and how to express it. We had to use curiosity to fully understand and get to know the character. Without curiosity we wouldn’t have been able to get to create those lines with the character`s personality In mind. (20/20)
